The Top 5 Tips To Increase Your Rankings In The #SERPS

By Max Webster-Dowsing

We all know that it can be a difficult process to achieve those high keyword rankings that we all lust after. While it is know as a common fact that we need acquire links from third parties to our website to gain popularity for our chosen keyword, it is often not discussed or taught how to improve your own site first. I have made minor tweaks with these following tips before now on my own site and have seen a massive jump in my rankings. Do not be one of the crowd and rush out and get hundreds of links without sorting out your own website first.

1. Title Tag:

You really need to get your title tag right, keep it as short and snappy as possible. This needs to be your headline for your business or site. Be as creative as possible. Also remember to include your keyword within it, you have available a maximum of between ten and fifty characters.

2. Description Meta Tag:

This again is similar to the above, remember to keep it short and you must include your chosen keyword within the field.

3. Header Tag:

The header tag is often referred to as the H1, H2 and H4 tag. It is a well known fact that the major search engines give the most recognition to these tags. The most important one though is the H1 tag, ensure that you include your keyword within this field, this is often used as the title of your chosen webpage.

4. Alt Tag:

Alt tag refers to Alt text which means it is associated with a image. For instance when you visit a site and hover your cursor over an image you will see some text appear. I find it is always very good practice to include an image that is relevant to the webpage it is on. Try and include your keyword within the field, by doing that you are sending a clear signal to the search engines that your webpage is showing precedence to a given keyword phrase.

5. Keyword Meta Tag:

This is a straight-forward tag, the clue is in the title. This is important for two reasons, firstly you clearly need to include your keyword in this field but secondly what you find many webmasters doing is putting all of their sites keywords in this field. You must only put the relevant keyword in this meta tag, if you include all of the others then you are sending the wrong message to all of the search engines and your rankings could suffer as a result.

Why Your #Website Needs a #ResponsiveDesign?

By Shakti Prakash Nayak

Responsive web design is not a new concept. Probably, most of the webmasters are not clear about this technology. Simply, it's a design that helps users in viewing a website using any kind of computer device like, desktop, mobile phone, laptop, tablet etc. Now-a-days, smart phones are taking over the Internet surfing along with the other mobile devices. People use them for browsing social media, online shopping, email conversation, chat and banking. This is the reason why businesses around the world are now trying to make their website user and device friendly.

Idea Behind the Responsive Design:

In a normal web design, the users find it difficult to view a website clearly on their mobile devices, because the purpose is to serve a desktop screen. Here, the user may leave the website soon. But, in case of a responsive one, the site runs properly on any device and the user can get full access using the small screen. When it comes to a redesigning the website, it hardly needs some hundred to a few thousands of dollars. But, the key to success is user experience. It is clear that the future is mobile and it's a challenge for the business owners to capture the mobile visitors.

Why a Responsive Design is Essential?

The aim of a search engine like Google is to provide the most related information for positive user experience. The same rule also applies to a business website. If a visitor lands on a website that looks odd on his/her mobile device, he/she may leave the site immediately. More than 65% of the users buy products and services, if the site is responsive and informative.

In case of search engine optimization, the webmaster will be able to run a single campaign for the website and it is also easy to manage the website's content, design, social media and other marketing stuff.
Online marketing is all about competition. If the website is responsive, it can achieve maximum traffic and conversion than the competitors.

According to a research, more than 50% of people use social media through mobile devices. So, responsive design is the only way to reach the target population easily. It engages the customer and also drives them to the website.

It is a fact that Google is dominating the search world. According the algorithm, responsive web pages are good for search engine, because, the same URL is used for all devices. Google also finds it easy to crawl, index and organize. Instead of using a separate URL for the same site, responsive design should be adopted.

While talking about competition, you may not be aware about the strategies followed by your competitors. They may not be using this cutting age technology. So, it is the perfect time to redesign or create a new website that grabs maximum user attention.
